A good bit of fun. ( )

I'd been hoping this book would be higher fantasy and heavier world-building for the omegaverse. I don't think i'll continue the series, but I am glad i gave it a chance. ( )

Well, I read this because of so many raving reviews from people I usually share a taste in books with. But, I have same issues than with the Mercy Thompson books. I did like this one better, but the whole werewolf pack thing really annoys me and also the fact that the heroine doesn't have any friends. In this book it made more sense, but still. I don't like romances where the hero is/will be the heroine's whole life, because she really had none before.

The writing was good and there was a plot, but I actually was more interested in the lives of Bran and Asil than the main couple. Maybe that's not such a good thing either... It was decent, but I don't think I will be continuing with this series. Too many urban fantasy tropes I have issues with. ( )

A slow start but the story gets more interesting as you carry on and in the end it'll have you hooked.
Mercy Thompson series is still my favorite between the two but this one has the potential to be quite as good.

Leave to me to once again read a series out of order.

But I mean to rectify that by rereading this Alpha & Omega Series from start to finish. And this will not be a hardship for me.

Just like I love Mercy Thompson and her wolf Adam....Anna and Charles have stolen another part of my heart.
Like I said I read the series out of order so I knew Anna had gone through some bad stuff when Charles' found her and made her his mate. I didn't realize how bad it was and how lost both of them were in trying to come together and form the bond. HE didn't know how to tell her what she should have been told when she completed the Change. Anna had been kept in the dark about so many things about being an Omega and a wolf at the same time.
I love the fact that Anna may have had her spirit broken but when she allowed herself to let her wolf loose and follow her instincts she became stronger and so crucial to the pack.
And Holy Smokes....Bran....He's a friggin' Berserker!!!!!!No wonder those few who know keep his secret and everyone else instinctively fears him!!! Who's the only one who can help him....you got it...Ms. Anna the unsure.
This was a really well written, fast paced adventure. Even having read books that followed chronologically it still made sense. Had the same flow and you could see the growth the characters would go through. Asil...I like him. He's spunky and full of mischief. Tag...Tag just sounds like a gentle giant.
Good to see Charles falling in love and acknowledging he didn't know what he was doing, if he was doing it right or that his mate could be strong but she needs him to treat her as an equal not a fragile human female which she is most definitely NOT.
Okay so now that I have the order issue out of the way. Time to take a deep breath, get a cold drink and start from the beginning just to enjoy them and see what I might have missed the first time around not following the order. ( )

Book description
This book is related to the Mercy Thompson series, but will have Charles and Anna from the previous short story "Alpha and Omega" in the anthology On the Prowl.

Anna never knew werewolves existed, until the night she survived a violent attack... and became one herself. After three years at the bottom of the pack, she'd learned to keep her head down and never, ever trust dominant males. Then Charles Cornick, the enforcer—and son—of the leader of the North American werewolves, came into her life.

Charles insists that not only is Anna his mate, but she is also a rare and valued Omega wolf. And it is Anna's inner strength and calming presence that will prove invaluable as she and Charles go on the hunt in search of a rogue werewolf—a creature bound in magic so dark that it could threaten all of the pack.

It is recommended you read the prequel "Alpha & Omega" before reading Cry Wolf.
