Twee gedateerde Science Fiction verhalen in een band.

De Huizen van Iszm - Op de planeet Iszm groeien de huizen als peulen aan bomen. Deze worden naar diverse werelden geexporteerd. Ook naar de Aarde. Er zijn diverse pogingen gedaan om de zaden van deze bomen naar de Aarde te smokkelen, maar dit mislukte iedere keer. Zou het nu wel lukken?

De Vijf gouden banden - Ieder jaar weer komen de Zonen bij elkaar om te besluiten hoe de ruimtestuwers over de werelden verdeeld gaan worden. Deze ruimte stuwers hebben een waarde van 1 miljoen per stuk. Het geheim hoe ze te maken ligt bij de Vijf Zonen. Paddy, een Aardling, probeert samen met Faye om achter de bouwtekeningen te komen.
