Loading... Pride and Prejudice [abridged - Penguin Readers Level 5]by Jane Austen
![]() None No current Talk conversations about this book. This story sweeps me in completely. I love it for the romance of the story but also because of the humour; jane austen is funny, not something the world at large associates with her books, or at least its certainly not mentioned at school. If you've seen the recent film then you have missed out on so much, the bbc drama did a much better job of staying true to the book - providing a georgeous Darcy and a loathsome Mr Collins - I read the book for the first time after watching the first episode. However if you haven't already, then please, please, please read the book and let the author conjour up the characters in your head as she wrote them to be. It is a wonderful book and you won't be disapointed. My favourite chapter is the last, it wraps up the book well with a good dose of humour; i just wish she'd written what happens next.
